Michaelean faculty present researches in New York

Faculty members cum administrators presented their researches in a Filipino American teachers' conference in New York. VP for Academics and Research Dr. Maria Regina Milagros Manabat and Director for Student Services Ms. Inecita Cuevas represented SMCL in the International Research and Education Conference held at 4 West 43rd St., New York City on Oct. 27-31. Both researches also served as session chairs during the paper presentations. Dr. Manabat presented her research entitled "What drives the formation of “valuable” Academe - Industry Partnership: The case of HEIs and Companies in the CALABARZON," co-authored with Research Director Dr. Socorro Rodriguez and SMCL President Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese. Said research was produced in part with the assistance of the Commission on Higher Education. The main gate along the Old National Road will be closed effective 26 October 2017. The Segunda Limaco Main Gate on Teodora Street and near Our Lady of Mount Carmel Schoolhouse will serve as the pedestrian access gate for students, personnel, and visitors. Gate 3 (VIP Gate) along Teodora Street will be used as "Entry" for all incoming vehicles. The SMCC Secondary Gate (fronting BiƱan Doctors Hospital Inc.) will be the "Exit" during designated hours only: 6:00 to 8:30 A.M. and 2:00 to 4:30 P.M. All vehicles will exit using Gate 2 for the rest of the day. Michaelean exchange students visit Hiroshima

Six Michaeleans were part of the first batch of exchange students bound for Hiroshima, Japan from Oct. 9-22. Senior High School students headed by Robotics coach and IT instructor Alfrei Lakindanum went to partner school National Institute of Technology-Hiroshima College (formerly Hiroshima National College of Maritime Technology) attended Electronics class (Relay Wiring), Nxt programming class using C language, Robotics Engineering, engine peak of the Japanese’s culture through their visits to historical places and temples, Japanese calligraphy. They were Jazmin Tan,  King Miles Ramos, Jeane Loraine Rombaoa, Carl Joseph Dela Paz, Jan Patrick Luiz Dalicano, Angelo Sanguyo. Participants also attended Robo-con 2017, a robotics tournament of KOSEN (technology institutes) to observe and learn strategies. CEM awards SMCL admin for leadership excellence

Center for Educational Measurement, Inc. (CEM), a testing services provider in the Philippines gave SMCL the school leadership excellence award on Sept. 8 at EDSA Shangri-La, Manila. SMCL's Integrated School Director, Mrs. Elena Manalo was recognized for her leadership efforts in the field of assessment and research in the Luzon region. The College was also cited for "commendable support" to Mrs. Manalo. SMCL President Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese received the award for the College. Said awards were handed out during the 39th Anniversary Conference of CEM.
