To commemorate the 102nd birth anniversary of the Biñan local hero, Saint Michael's College of Laguna spearheaded activities at the City Library and Museum on Sept. 16. Rogelio Ligaya Limaco, former mayor of Biñan, was hailed as town hero by the City Council due to his sacrifice during World War II, when he saved his male constituents from being massacred by the Japanese troops. Saint Michael's College of Laguna announced that scholarships for junior high school and senior high school will be offered for the next school year, 2017-2018. The President's Scholarship Grant for Senior High School is open for incoming Grade 11 students who have 85% and above general average. Bona fide students qualify for the competitive examinations to be held at SMCL. Meanwhile, incoming Grade 7 students who have 85% and above general average may take the Limaco Scholarship Test. Passers will be given the Limaco Scholarship Grant for Junior High School. These grants are open for both public and private school completers of Grade 6 (for JHS) and Grade 10 (for SHS). The 42nd week-long celebration was a huge success with 100% of all the events lined-up successfully realized. In celebration of its 42nd College Week, Saint Michael’s College of Laguna (SMCL) in partnership with the College Student Council (CSC) conducted a Youth Empowerment Forum with the theme: #How to Be You on the 25th day of January 2017, Wednesday, 10:00 to12:00 noon at Saint Theodore Hall. The forum’s outcome is an inspired and empowered Filipino youth who are willing to lead and create changes in their community. By listening to the vision of the selected speakers and how they charted their course to be significant figures in their field, the forum hoped to unleash their passion to be servant-leaders. Hon.
