Zontian mag features SMCL Golden Z Club

The Zontian, the official publication of Zonta International, once again featured SMCL Golden Z Club for winning first place in the Emma Conlon Service Awards.



The September 2017 issue highlighted the group’s service project called I Walk in Her Shoes, which focused on gender equality.

GZC's flagship projects include Say No to Violence Against Women and Girls, He for She, Breast Cancer Prevention, Free Legal Clinic, and Ring for Peace among others.
Golden Z Clubbers work for UN’s Sustainable Goals particularly Goal#5, Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.

Said club is being sponsored by Zonta Club of Laguna.

To commemorate the 102nd birth anniversary of the Biñan local hero, Saint Michael's College of Laguna spearheaded activities at the City Library and Museum on Sept. 16. SMCL offers scholarship grants for SHS and JHS

Saint Michael's College of Laguna announced that scholarships for junior high school and senior high school will be offered for the next school year, 2017-2018. The President's Scholarship Grant for Senior High School is open for incoming Grade 11 students who have 85% and above general average. Bona fide students qualify for the competitive examinations to be held at SMCL. Meanwhile, incoming Grade 7 students who have 85% and above general average may take the Limaco Scholarship Test. Passers will be given the Limaco Scholarship Grant for Junior High School. These grants are open for both public and private school completers of Grade 6 (for JHS) and Grade 10 (for SHS). CHED grants autonomous status to SMCL

Saint Michael's College of Laguna (SMCL) is now an autonomous college . The Commission on Higher Education, through memorandum order no. 20, series of 2016, announced the list of autonomous and deregulated universities and colleges in the country. Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese (SMCL President) and Dr. Patricia Licuanan (CHED Chairperson) SMCL is one of the seven universities in Region IV-A Calabarzon and 53 higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines which were granted autonomy for three years starting April 1, 2016 until May 31, 2019. Other HEIs which were declared autonomous were Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, and University of Santo Tomas, In Calabarzon, SMCL joins the ranks of Adventist University of the Philippines, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, Lyceum of the Philippines University (Batangas), Manuel S.
