Private schools association installs SMCL president as new leader

Philippine Association of Private Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAPSCU) installed its new leader, Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese, Saint Michael’s College of Laguna (SMCL) president on Aug. 26, at Makati Shangri La, Manila, Rizal Ballroom B.


During the 9th Installation and Turnover Ceremonies hosted by SMCL, Atty. Joseph Noel Estrada, PAPSCU Executive Director shared the new president’s experience and qualifications, while SMCL introduced the association through a multimedia presentation.

Then, Dr. Jose Paulo Campos, outgoing president of PAPSCU, and the new President Emeritus, inducted Dr. Sese in the oathtaking ceremony.

Ms. Rhodora Angela Ferrer, Executive Director of Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC), congratulated Dr. Sese and challenged the association to be resilient during the K to 12 transition.
In her acceptance speech, Dr. Sese made a commitment to lead the association to progress for the sake of Philippine private education sector.

As a way to congratulate PAPSCU, Mr. Dante Ang, president of The Manila Times College then led the witnesses, which include the immediate family of Dr. Sese, and the faculty and staff of SMCL, to offer a toast.

As the new president of PAPSCU, Dr. Sese is expected to lead the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA), the umbrella organization of all private schools in the Philippines by 2019.
